Manchester

My home town; I was born in Bolton, Greater Manchester, and have lived there until
I was 18, I mainly started photographing the urban spots on the outskirts of the city,
as I gained confidence I was able to move into the city centre, taking sly pictures of
the people as they walked about their daily lives.
I've always been fascinated with people, particurlarly those who are different, or
those with a story to tell.
The Manchester area is rather large, with various "dodgy" areas, you'll hear things off
other people like; "Don't go round there" , the words robbing, stabbing are often used
when these areas are brought up. It was these areas I really wanted to document,
but after hearing these words, I was put off. When I finally went, it was not as I'd
expected, the people were as interested in me as I was in them, and they would tell
me about them, without me even having to ask, before I left I never managed to
stick with one story to document, and just have various shots...
